🐻 Ok, Bears fans, my Eagles got rolled last night - you can talk your trash via email if need be 🙂

⚾ However, MLB playoffs start tonight and the Phillies have an uphill battle against the Braves. Stay tuned - we are all wearing Phillies red in our local schools today!

In 2006, Karl Fisch made a PowerPoint for a faculty meeting at Arapahoe High School. Scott McLeod remixed it, and "Did You Know? / Shift Happens" went on to become one of the most widely shared education videos of all time. It asked a simple question: what does it mean to prepare kids for a world that's changing this fast?

Twenty years later, the world has changed again. This is an update for our moment with the rise of AI, how students are really using it, how fast the technology is improving, what's happening to work, and what all of it means for the kids starting kindergarten this fall.

I’m very invested in this as both an educator, but also a Dad to five kids. One who is graduating high school this year, and one who is just starting Kindergarten.

To put it all in perspective, the first "Did You Know?" took hours and hours to make. This one took a few minutes with AI. The question isn't whether AI can do the work. It's whether our kids can still do the thinking.

Made in honor of the original, with deep gratitude to Karl Fisch and Scott McLeod (and to Jeff Brenman and XPLANE, who worked on later versions). Every question this update asks, they asked first.
